In the Nikolaev area, large -scale fires have erupted, which are rapidly spreading through a strong wind. According to the State Emergency Service, more than 50 ignition centers have been recorded in the total area of more than 400 hectares.
Particularly intense situation was in the regional center - Nikolaev. There are three large areas burning there. Due to the gusts of the wind, the flame quickly approaches residential quarters, creating a real threat to the local population.
In the Ternovka neighborhood, the fire covered about 10 hectares. According to preliminary data, two residential buildings and three outbuildings were destroyed. Firefighters operate in enhanced mode, but the wind complicates the extinguishing.
Local authorities urge residents to be as careful as possible, avoid open fire and report new ignition centers. Evacuation measures will be carried out if necessary.
The SES has already attracted additional forces and equipment, including aviation. Currently, the situation is trying to take control, but difficult weather conditions leave the risks of further spread of fire.
