Recently, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administrative Authority (OMA) has been under great doubt due to the disclosure of scandalous information regarding the purchase of logs for strengthening fortification structures.
According to investigative journalists, the value of these logs turned out to be three times higher than the market price.
This is stated in the investigation of the publication "Our Money".
"The state withdraws logs from state forestry farms for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the first quarter of this year, wood was taken at a price from UAH 1,700 to UAH 2,600 per cubic meter including VAT, depending on the diameter of the logs and the quality class of the wood. Delivery... to Mykolaiv costs from UAH 1,100 to UAH 1,500/cube. Another 300 hryvnias costs a ride/loading. Therefore... the cost of pine logs in Mykolaiv should be from UAH 3,900 to UAH 4,400 per cubic meter. But in the fortification estimates of the people of Mykolaiv, the price is UAH 11,400. In other words, it is actually three times more expensive than market prices," says the publication "Our Money".
The publication notes that the exchange price of pine, which is freely sold by state forest farms, on the "Ukrainian Energy Exchange" is currently about UAH 2,400 per cubic meter.
It is also emphasized that the cost of transportation is not included in the price of UAH 11,400, which is indicated in the estimates of Mykolayivska OVA. Delivery across the region to the construction site is indicated separately in the estimate and costs UAH 720 per cubic meter including VAT, "Our Money" writes.
If compared with prices in some other regions, in Mykolaiv the cost of a log is almost seven (!) times higher, the investigation says.
"The most obvious difference with the prices in the State Reconstruction estimates in Sumy region, where the logs are calculated at UAH 1,752, is that Mykolaiv logs are almost seven times more expensive. In addition, Mykolaiv wood is almost three times more expensive than the prices that "Our Money" found in the "Prozorro" system. For example, in April, two military units ordered logs worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias at 4,236-4,320 hryvnias per cubic meter. What's more, even in the scandalous contracts of the Kharkiv regional administration, the wood is twice as cheap as the Mykolaiv estimate," the publication notes.
