Contacts between Kyiv and the administration of newly elected US President Donald Trump are developing at all levels. The issue of military support for Ukraine has become one of the key areas of the dialogue.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhy, during a press conference on Friday.
According to Tykhi, Ukraine is open to consideration of any form of military aid, but so far no official proposals have been received from the United States.
"Contact with the new administration has been established at all levels, and the issue of military support is being discussed, in particular. We believe that it is in the interests of both parties. However, there are no official proposals yet," he said.
Ukraine hopes for further development of cooperation in this direction, especially considering the strategic importance of the region for the USA.
George Tykhi also announced that the date of the visit of Keith Kellogg - the future special representative of Donald Trump - to Kyiv has been previously agreed.
During this visit, Ukraine plans to present its own vision of ways to achieve a just peace. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the importance of taking into account the Ukrainian position when forming foreign policy decisions of the new US administration.
Dialogue with the new administration of Donald Trump opens up prospects for strengthening support for Ukraine, including military aid. However, key decisions, as emphasized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will depend on the readiness of the American side to make specific proposals.
