In the cities of Mirnograd and Selidove in Donetsk region, the curfew is being tightened due to the worsening of the situation at the front and the threat of Russian shelling. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, in his Telegram channel.
According to the new order, from August 19, 2024, the curfew in these settlements will last from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. the next day. Currently, the curfew is from 17:00 to 09:00, but due to the increased danger, a decision was made to extend it.
"I call on everyone who still remains in these cities to observe the restrictions and not expose themselves to danger," Vadim Filashkin emphasized. He emphasized the importance of observing the curfew to ensure the safety of the civilian population in the context of active hostilities.
We will remind you that recently, on August 12, the curfew was changed in Donetsk region, which depends on the proximity of the settlement to the front line. For cities located less than 10 kilometers from the front, a curfew schedule was established from 17:00 to 09:00. For more distant cities, the curfew is from 21:00 to 05:00.
The strengthening of the curfew is related to recent attacks by Russian troops. In particular, on August 17, the Russian occupiers attacked Mirnograd, as a result of which one person was killed and four others were injured. Several buildings were destroyed and damaged, including an unfinished nine-story building, six high-rise buildings, a pharmacy, a movie theater, and two stores.
Today, August 18, the occupiers shelled Mirnograd again with artillery, which resulted in the death of a woman born in 1941 and the wounding of another woman, 56 years old. Three private houses were damaged.
The population of the region is urged to be as careful as possible and to strictly observe the rules of the curfew.
