In Khmelnych region, the KORD unit detained a man who shot two official cars and wounded a policeman and a civilian.
According to the communications department of the National Police, the incident took place on September 14 around one o'clock in the morning in the village of Oleshin of the Khmelnytskyi territorial community. The special operation was carried out after a local resident opened fire with a Kalashnikov assault rifle on police officers and their official vehicles.
The incident began when a patrol police response team crew stopped a vehicle for inspection during curfew. It turned out that the driver was under the influence of alcohol - "Drager" showed 1.27 ppm of alcohol in the blood.
After drawing up the protocol, the driver went home, leaving his friend in the car. Soon he returned to the scene with a machine gun and started shooting at the police. Accordingly, the law enforcement officers returned fire and called for reinforcements.
As a result of the attack, a policeman and a civilian were injured. The perpetrator was detained as part of a special operation of the KORD unit.
At the moment, investigative actions are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
