In the forest near the village of Burkut, Verkhovyna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, a 33-year-old man from the Dnieper was found. According to preliminary data, no signs of violent death on the body were detected. The cause of death is established by forensic examination.
As reported in the police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the law enforcement officers received information about the disappearance of the Dnieper a few days before the body was detected. It was found on May 24 in a mountain forest near the border with Romania.
"After completing the necessary investigative actions, rescuers from Verkhovyna, together with police officers, transported the body to the nearest settlement," the SES said.
The body of the deceased was taken to the morgue of the city of Kolomyia, where experts have to determine the exact cause of death. Following the results of the examination, a decision on the legal qualification of the event will be made.
Investigators and operatives work on the spot. The reasons why a man found himself in a remote forest is not disclosed.
