A new minisculture appeared in Kyiv within the framework of the tourist art tract "Look!". This time, it is dedicated to the Kiev contracts - the legendary fairs held on Kontraktova Square, which was named after this event. This was reported by the founder of the project Yulia Bevzenko.
A story that can be seen
The Minisculture is installed near the contract house - a historic building, where in the XVIII -XIX centuries, entrepreneurs from all over Europe have concluded trade agreements. The bronze composition depicts a counter on which a contract is signed - a symbol of the era when Kiev first acquired the status of an international economic center.
Yulia Bevzenko noted that the new sculpture honors Kiev as a city of entrepreneurship, money, ties and free exchange of ideas.
Contract as a Center for Business Life
The Contract Fair, which was held in the winter, became a significant event for Podil. It was at this time of the year that the ground roads were freezing, and it was easy to reach the city. For several weeks, Kiev turned into a giant market - a place where not only products, but also influences, culture, business styles converged.
In those days, the Contract Square was the heart of business Kiev, and the contract house was a true epicenter of arrangements and decisions that changed the economic landscape of the region.
The sculpture has become another exhibit of the interactive city quest "Search!", Which combines elements of history, tourism and urban studies.
