Arsonists of military vehicles and relay cabinets were detained in Kyiv region and Volyn

In the Kyiv and Volyn regions, law enforcement officers detained five people who are suspected of setting fire to the cars of military personnel and relay cabinets of the railway infrastructure. The perpetrators filmed their actions in order to report to the so-called "curators". This was reported by the Kyiv City and Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Offices with reference to the National Police of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the Kyivan received an order via Telegram to set fire to a relay box near the railway station in the Svyatoshyn district of the capital for a monetary reward.

For his scheme, he involved two of his acquaintances. Arriving at the "object", they opened the door of the relay cabinet, doused it with fire-starting solution and set it on fire.

One of the suspects filmed the entire process on a mobile phone. Later, the video was sent to the customer.

In addition, arsonists of military vehicles were also discovered in Volyn.

Two Volhynians were also looking for "easy earnings". In one of the messengers, for a monetary reward, they were offered to set fire to the cars of the Ukrainian military and provided detailed instructions for this. A mandatory condition for "cooperation" was video recording of the work result

On December 23, 2024, in the city of Volodymyr, the suspects set fire to a military car, dousing it with a previously prepared incendiary mixture.

They filmed their actions on a mobile phone to report to the "curator".

Currently, they have been detained, preventive measures are being taken for the suspects.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has recorded 341 incidents of setting fire to the cars of military personnel. Suspicion has already been announced in 219 cases, and 184 persons are being prosecuted.
