According to the investigation, both of the RAM consisted of persons with a criminal past, previously repeatedly convicted of serious and especially serious crimes. Some of the persons involved are currently serving sentences in prison, but continue to affect the criminal situation in the region.

The SBU told that the attackers created artificial conflicts, after which they began to demand money from citizens. In case of refusal, they were threatened with physical violence. In one of the cases, the victim demanded a monthly "tribute" of $ 5,000. Otherwise, they were forced to pay $ 3,600 allegedly for a non -existent debt.

"The received funds were used by the attackers for personal enrichment and financing of persons from the criminal environment in prison," the special service said.
