The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a 57-year-old employee of one of the departments of the Pervomaisky City Council, who turned out to be an agent of Russian special services. This was reported by the SBU Department in Mykolaiv region.
According to the investigation, the official collected data on the movement and deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as recorded the routes of military equipment. She transmitted the information via a chatbot administered by Sergey Lebedev under the pseudonym "Lokhmaty" - a Russian agent hiding in occupied Donetsk.
The intelligence was passed on to the FSB and military intelligence of the aggressor country, which could use it to coordinate new missile and drone attacks on the territory of the southern region of Ukraine.
The agent was detained right during a meeting in the city council. The SBU seized computer equipment and mobile phones that the woman used for espionage.
Based on the collected evidence, she was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - high treason under martial law. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The suspect is currently in custody.
