In the Odesa region, border guards stopped a car filled with men of military age who were trying to illegally cross the border with Moldova. The incident occurred during heightened control at one of the border directions, the State Border Service of Ukraine (SPSU) reports.
"For the 'help', everyone had to pay from $7,000 to $10,000 per crypto wallet, but the plan failed due to the vigilance of the border guards," the message reads.
The DPSU noted that now the driver faces criminal liability, and the passengers – administrative.
Taking evaders abroad
Earlier in Transcarpathia, a 25-year-old paramedic was suspected of organizing a scheme to transport men abroad. The police said that the doctor transported men of draft age almost to the border with Slovakia. Thanks to the activated flashing beacons, he drove past law enforcement officers without hindrance, avoiding official checkpoints.
5 km from the border, he dropped off evaders and instructed them on how to get to the neighboring country. The man charged at least $3,000 per person for his services. A paramedic was caught red-handed when he tried to transport two men in turn.
