On Sunday, April 7, a 49-year-old resident of Kropyvnytsky, who worked at the district center of staff and social support, died in the resuscitation of the Reni City Hospital. The preliminary cause of death was called brain edema, which probably arose against the background of an overdose of the drug Methadone.
According to Bessarabia Inform, citing sources in medical circles, the man was hospitalized with suspected heart attack. Already during resuscitation, it became known that the day before he used methadone - a synthetic opioid, which can cause severe complications, especially when overdose.
Doctors immediately began assistance, but it was not possible to save the patient. He died in the walls of the hospital. The final cause of death should be determined after the forensic examination is completed.
Law enforcement agencies have already started investigations. Investigators should determine in what circumstances the man used the forbidden drug, whether he had medical appointment and where methadone could come from.
In the community, death has caused resonance, because the man was an employee of the military department. Whether his work had a connection with the event is not yet reported.
