In Poltava region they will judge a woman for the cruel death of a baby

The Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the completion of the pre -trial investigation in the premeditated murder of a newborn baby. The 34-year-old resident of the Mirgorod district, a large mother who deliberately deprived the life of her newly born son, is accused.

According to the investigation, the tragedy happened on January 31, 2024. The woman gave birth at home, without any medical care. After childbirth, she torn the umbilical cord independently, and then covered the baby with wet clothing, limiting the access of air to the respiratory system.

The medical certificate confirmed that mechanical asphyxia was the cause of death.

The prosecutor's office emphasizes that the woman was in an adequate mental state, was conscious, did not register in medical institutions, but had a complete opportunity to seek help from doctors - what she did not knowingly.

On this fact, she is charged with the crime under Art. 117 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional murder of the mother of her newborn baby. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to five years.

The case has already been sent to court.
