Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva emphasized the importance of a wide representation of the countries of the world at the upcoming Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland. He noted that the results of the talks between the presidents of Ukraine and Switzerland determined the place and time of the summit, and work is currently underway on organizational aspects, in particular, the preparation of invitations for the participating states.
Zhovkva emphasized the need to consider a wide range of countries for participation in the Peace Summit. He noted that this should include representatives not only from China, but also from other countries in the Global South such as India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Brazil, as well as other countries from Latin America, Africa and Asia. He noted that this initiative is not limited to Ukraine and Switzerland, and cooperation with partners in Europe is also important.
Zhovkva also noted that the President of Ukraine actively communicates with European leaders with the aim of involving them in participating in the Peace Summit, emphasizing the importance of their contacts and influence on the leaders of the countries of the Global South.
Zhovkva also reminded that representatives of 84 countries were represented at the last meeting of national security advisers in Davos, so it is expected that the number of participants at the Summit in Switzerland will be even greater.
The Global Peace Summit is an international event that will take place in Switzerland at the level of the leaders of the participating countries of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. It is scheduled for June 15-16. Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Wang Shiting also announced the possibility of participation from the PRC.
