The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported suspicion to the head of one of the departments of NEC "Ukrenergo" in connection with suspicion of official negligence and attempted financial fraud on the restoration of the energy infrastructure of Odesa. According to the information, the official and the contractor tried to "earn" 3.7 million hryvnias.

According to the investigation, at the beginning of 2023, NEC "Ukrenergo" concluded a contract with a subcontractor for the restoration of electrical equipment after shelling. According to the contract, it was necessary to perform the dismantling and relocation of two autotransformers to replace the damaged ones and connect them.
However, the suspected official allowed a significant excess of the actual transportation costs in the contract. And also agreed to the provision of international transportation services, which in fact were not performed.
As a result of such negligent actions, more than UAH 3.7 million in losses were caused to the state enterprise.
The indictment against two directors of contracting companies for embezzlement of state funds and official forgery is already pending in court.
