In Vinnytsia region, the deputy of the Bar city council Vasyl Khomenko received a sentence for false declaration of property. He was charged with Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine-the submission of deliberately false information in declarations for 2022 and 2023.
Khomenko, elected a deputy of the Bar City Council in 2020, is a private entrepreneur, disabled person of the third group and originally from the village of Stanilovka, Pogrebyshchensky district. According to the investigation, he systematically hid valuable real estate, land and transport.
In the declaration for 2022, Khomenko "forgot" to specify:

five land plots in Zhmeryn district and the city of BAR with a total cost of UAH 808 thousand;

three non -residential premises - two stores and warehouse - at a bar for UAH 26.68 million;

Four vehicles (two Mercedes-Benz vans and two cars-LUAZ and AZLK) worth 624 thousand UAH.
In 2023, the situation repeated: in January 2024, the MP did not specify the property again at least UAH 10 million.
During the trial, the accused fully pleaded guilty and sincerely repented, confirming all the circumstances set out in the indictment. In view of this, the court decided not to apply more stringent sanctions.
Khomenko was assigned a fine of UAH 76.5 thousand and banned from occupying positions related to the performance of functions of the state or local self -government, for a period of two years.
This sentence once again demonstrates that even at the local level, officials are not immune to responsibility for manipulation with declarations - especially when it comes to tens of millions of undeclared assets.
