An event took place in the Zakarpattia region of Ukraine, which caused a significant response among local residents and the public. The Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office has confirmed information about the detention of a deputy of the Berehiv City Council, who belongs to Poroshenko's political party, for illegally transporting a smuggler across the border.
The prosecutor's office specified that the deputy had organized a whole scheme to transport evaders across the border. He coordinated their accommodation in Berehova hotels, as well as the date and method of crossing the border.
He charged $7,000 from one person for his services. He was arrested for a bribe of 14 thousand dollars.
Also today, Viktor Sannikov, who was detained, was remanded in custody with the possibility of a bail of 908,000 hryvnias.
