The Zhytomyr Court of Appeal confirmed a sentence to a 41-year-old resident of Berdychiv district, who systematically raped his minor. The court left unchanged decision of the first instance, which provides for a sentence of 15 years in prison.
According to the Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of the Gryshkovets community has committed sexual crimes against the child for several years. Violence occurred when his wife - the mother of the girl - was absent at home. To keep the victim's silence, the man threatened her physical violence.
Crimes were known because of the vigilance of the class teacher, who drew attention to the sharp change in the behavior of the student. The educator reported a school psychologist, after which the girl dared to tell about the experience. The crime was revealed when the child felt that she was ready to protect her.
The consideration of the case ended with an indictment. After the appeal, the court's decision came into force - the accused began serving a real term of imprisonment.
The girl's mother is deprived of parental rights and the child is in a foster care.
