The current situation at the front in the Zaporizhzhia region demonstrates growing tension, which may lead to new large-scale offensive actions by Russian troops. According to the German publication Bild, the Russian army is actively concentrating around the city of Pologa with the intention of launching an offensive on Gulyaipole.
Gulyaipole, which is located in a strategically important region, is a key point for Ukrainian forces. Control over this city can significantly increase the pressure on Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region, as confirmed by sources in the Ukrainian military.
This development of events is not accidental - Ukrainian experts and the commander of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi have repeatedly pointed out the possibility of the activation of Russian forces in the Zaporozhye region. As you know, a potential offensive on Zaporizhzhia and the Dnipro is considered one of the biggest threats to Ukrainian forces, since the capture of these cities could seriously complicate logistical support on the southeastern front and allow the creation of a bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnipro.
According to information from Bild's source in military circles, Ukraine plans to respond to a possible threat from Russia by organizing "local counterattacks." The formation of new brigades, the rotation of units and the compensation of losses are planned for the fall. Although the mobilization is slower than expected, this is contrary to previously announced plans to accelerate the mobilization.
Western analysts also suggest that Russian troops may experience exhaustion in the coming months, which could significantly change the situation at the front.
