The current situation on the front in Zaporizhia region demonstrates growing tension, which could lead to new large-scale offensive actions by Russian troops. According to the German publication Bild, the Russian army is actively concentrating around the city of Pologi with the intention of launching an offensive on Hulyaipole.
Hulyaipole, located in a strategically important region, is a key point for Ukrainian forces. Control of the city could significantly increase pressure on Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region, according to Ukrainian military sources.
This development is not accidental - Ukrainian experts and the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky have repeatedly noted the possibility of Russian forces being activated in the Zaporizhia direction. As is known, a potential offensive on Zaporizhia and the Dnieper is considered one of the biggest threats to Ukrainian forces, since the capture of these cities could seriously complicate logistical support on the southeastern front and allow the creation of a bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper.
According to information from a Bild source in military circles, Ukraine plans to respond to a possible threat from Russia by organizing “local counterattacks.” The formation of new brigades, rotation of units and compensation for losses are planned for the fall. Although mobilization is proceeding more slowly than expected, this contradicts previously announced plans to accelerate mobilization.
Western analysts also suggest that Russian troops may suffer attrition in the coming months, which could significantly change the situation on the front.
