The SAPO prosecutor, based on NABU materials, has sent an indictment to the High Anti-Corruption Court in the case of abuse at the Odessa Port Plant. Among the defendants is former MP Oleksandr Granovsky, whom the investigation suspects of organizing a multi-million-dollar fertilizer sales scheme through a shell company, the Anti-Corruption Center reports.
According to the investigation, in 2015, OPP concluded a number of contracts with the British Newscope Estates Ltd. This company allegedly acted as an intermediary: actual deliveries were not made, and the contracts deliberately understated the cost of ammonia and urea. The products were then sold to real buyers at market prices, with shipments coming directly from OPP, and the difference between the real and understated prices was transferred to controlled accounts.
The investigation estimates the amount of the plant's illicit income at UAH 93.3 million.
In addition to Granovsky, the case also involves Olga Tkachenko, a former member of the OPP board and deputy assistant, and Pavlo Chumak, the owner of Newscope Estates Ltd. All three are wanted. According to law enforcement, Granovsky left Ukraine in August 2019 and holds an Israeli passport; he is currently abroad.
Previously, the Supreme Court of Justice granted the defense a deadline of October 3, 2025, to review the case materials. The proceedings are currently at the trial stage.
