The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, uncovered a large-scale corruption scheme related to the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment.
As reported by the SAPO, the criminal group involved a current People's Deputy, heads of the district and city military administrations, as well as servicemen of the National Guard. According to RBC-Ukraine sources, this is People's Deputy Oleksiy Kuznetsov.
The investigation found that participants in the scheme concluded state contracts with selected suppliers at deliberately inflated prices. Part of the funds — up to 30% of the contract amount — were returned to the organizers in the form of ill-gotten gains.
The contracts were signed exclusively with those companies that were involved in the conspiracy. During the special operation, law enforcement officers detained four people under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Among those involved is also the former head of the regional military administration, who now heads one of the district military administrations. Investigative actions are ongoing, the goal is to obtain sufficient evidence to take the case to court.
The head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, David Arakhamia, stated that Kuznetsov's membership in the faction will be suspended during the investigation.
NABU and SAPO emphasized that all actions are taking place within the law and are aimed at bringing the perpetrators to justice.
