The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) reported the suspicion to the acting head of the State Customs Service Serhiy Zvyagintsev. He is accused of not declaring real estate, the value of which exceeds $100,000.
This is stated in the message of NABU and the press service of SAP.
The investigation established that in his electronic declarations for the years 2021–2023, the official did not enter information about a house with an area of 236.8 square meters, located on a plot of land near Kyiv. The real estate was registered to the father of Zvyagintsev's wife, but the actual owner and manager of the property was the suspect himself and his family.
Such actions are qualified under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, intentional submission by the subject of the declaration of false information in the declaration.
According to the investigators, the total value of the house and the plot exceeds $100,000. The SAP emphasized that the real estate, despite the formal registration in the name of the wife's relative, actually belonged to the Zvyagintsev family.
The investigation was started based on the own efforts of NABU detectives and SAP prosecutors.
SAP reported that the investigation is ongoing. Currently, other possible facts of concealment of property by the official are being checked. If Zvyagintsev's guilt is proven, he faces criminal consequences according to current legislation.
We will remind you that the mayor of Yaremchyo in Ivano-Frankivsk region Andrii Myronyak declared his family's income in the amount of 35,621,097 hryvnias for 2023.
