The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Anatolii Bargylevych, appealed to the State Bureau of Investigation with the demand to punish the commander of the military unit Viktor Yushko for the illegal business trips of the anti-corruption officer Vitaly Shabunin to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP).
In December 2023, Anatoliy Bargylevych, the then head of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, expressed his indignation at the provision of illegal "business trips" to Vitaly Shabunin, while illegally paying him additional remuneration for service under special conditions.
In an appeal to the State Bureau of Investigation dated December 16, 2023, signed by Anatoliy Bargylevych, commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, it was noted the need to initiate criminal cases for "exceeding power or official authority by a military official" and "waste of property by abuse of official position, committed in conditions of martial law".
In the letter to the DBR, it was noted that the commander of the military unit, Viktor Yushko, regularly signed Vitaliy Shabunin's business trips to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and other institutions and organizations. At the same time, he ordered Shabunin to make additional payments in the amount of 30,000 hryvnias every month.
