The Chief of Staff of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Roman Gladkyi, found himself at the center of a scandal after an investigation by Toronto Television revealed that he crossed the Russian border 26 times in 2014-2015.
This investigation highlights serious questions about his possible ties to Russia and occupied Crimea.
According to the data, during his tenure as head of the surface and underwater forces department of the Ukrainian Navy Command, Gladkyi crossed the Russian border 8 times. There is no exact data on the checkpoints, which makes it difficult to determine his route. However, such activity raises serious suspicions about possible ties with Russia.
It was also mentioned that Gladky's wife, Olena, crossed the Russian border 22 times during the same period. The media also reported that she allegedly holds Russian citizenship and lives in occupied Crimea, although this data requires further confirmation.
As a result of these revelations, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, initiated a special investigation by the SBU. Hladkyi was removed from his duties and is currently under investigation.
