The National Police of Ukraine have successfully blocked a drug supply channel from the United States, organized by a 28-year-old Kyiv resident. According to law enforcement, the man, while abroad, established a cannabis smuggling scheme by disguising it in packages with household goods, such as coffee, cookies, and groceries.
One such box could contain from 3 to 5 kg of the drug. The accomplices collected the packages and sold the cannabis through a network of drug shops in Telegram channels throughout Ukraine.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized drugs worth 9,000,000 hryvnias and cash in various currencies worth over 29.4 million hryvnias. Law enforcement officers detained eight suspects, five in Kremenchuk and three in Kyiv - they face up to 15 years in prison.
