The National Police of Ukraine successfully blocked the supply channel of narcotic substances from the USA, which was organized by a 28-year-old man from Kyiv. According to law enforcement officers, the man, while abroad, set up a scheme to smuggle cannabis, disguising it in parcels with household goods, such as coffee, cookies and groceries.
One such box could contain from 3 to 5 kg of the drug. Accomplices took parcels and sold cannabis through a network of drug shops in Telegram channels throughout Ukraine.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized 9,000,000 hryvnias worth of drugs and over 29.4 million hryvnias worth of cash in various currencies. Law enforcement officers detained eight suspects, five in Kremenchuk and three in Kyiv - they face up to 15 years in prison.
