The National TV and Radio Council calls on the media to correctly cover the topic of mobilization

The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting has called on the Ukrainian media to more responsibly and correctly cover the topic of mobilization and work of territorial procurement centers (TCC). In the conditions of war, when the question of mobilization causes a wide public resonance, it is important to observe the principles of objectivity and ethics in journalism.

The National Council urges to submit information only from official and reliable sources, to check sources, in particular when quoting foreign media.

"Understand that most reports about unpleasant facts come from social networks, where it is difficult to verify the fact itself, and even more so the circumstances of what happened, especially taking into account the activity of the enemy. Even in the case of coverage of any controversial case of the detention of a person by representatives of the TCC, quotations should be used as carefully as possible, because emotional expressions in such cases are natural, but their appearance in the media with distribution is distorted and gives them an exaggerated meaning," the message reads.

It is stated that this is an "important aspect of protecting national security", as the Russian Federation speculates on the topic and tries to create a negative image of the TCC in society, disrupting mobilization.
