The most corrupt areas in the Ministry of Defense were the payment of "combatants" and the transfer of humanitarian aid

Deputy Minister of Defense Yuriy Dzhigyr said this while commenting on the audit of the Ministry of Defense, which revealed violations of UAH 10 billion.

"The results of internal audits in the military units showed significant amounts of violations, which were primarily committed due to the inclusion in the orders of the commanders of the military units to pay additional remuneration in the amount of UAH 30,000 to servicemen who actually did not fulfill the tasks of direct participation in hostilities," he said Dzhigir

One of the reasons for these violations was the lack of clear criteria for "special" tasks. The military considered such tasks to be carried out far beyond the borders of the front.

As for humanitarian aid, from the beginning of 2023, a third of the imported humanitarian aid did not reach the military units.

"More than 9,000 facts of the movement of humanitarian aid goods addressed to 200 military units were verified, while in more than 3,000 cases their receipt was not confirmed," the deputy minister said.

In general, in 2023, the audit revealed losses of resources in the amount of 1 billion 311 million UAH. And the first quarter of 2024 overshadowed this figure - resource losses amounted to more than 1 billion 812 million hryvnias.
