On February 13, the commander of the operational and strategic group of troops "Tavria" Oleksandr Tarnavskyi reported on the increase in the intensity of hostilities in the Tavria direction. According to him, the Ukrainian military "steadily maintains its defense and conducts active actions" in the designated directions.
Over the last day, the total losses of the Russian occupiers in the Taurian direction amounted to 645 people, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the year. The number of artillery fire and airstrikes also increased: on February 12 alone, 1,267 artillery fire and 67 air strikes were recorded.
Tarnavskyi previously noted that the Russian invaders are concentrating their main efforts on the Avdiyiv direction in order to gain control over the logistical routes to support Ukrainian units on the northern flank. Since the beginning of the activation of Russian troops near Avdiivka in October 2023, Ukrainian positions and the city have been subjected to constant attacks using tanks, armored vehicles, aviation and artillery.
However, currently the Ukrainian military is responding to the aggression of the Russian troops , successfully holding the defense and conducting active counterattacks. This is confirmed by the growing number of casualties among the Russian military and the high level of intensity of hostilities in the Taurian direction.
Currently, the battles for the city and its surroundings continue in Avdiivka. Some units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already replaced other units, and reinforcements have also arrived to strengthen the defense.
