Already at the next meeting, the Verkhovna Rada can cancel the blocking of the signing of the law on the legalization of medical cannabis. This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in a television interview, which was broadcast as part of the "Only News" telethon.
"Parliament is a political body, and politics will always be important. Blocking the signing of the law is the right of factions. I believe that at the next meeting we will resolve this blockage, and the law on the legalization of medical cannabis will be signed," the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament emphasized.
Stefanchuk expressed his belief that the legalization of medical cannabis is "a very correct decision", since drugs based on it are necessary for defenders who return from war with injuries.
We will remind that on December 21, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law "On Regulation of the Circulation of Cannabis Plants for Medical, Industrial Purposes, Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities to Create Conditions for Expanding Patients' Access to the Necessary Treatment of Oncological Diseases and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders Obtained as a Result of war".
It is important to note that on December 22, people's deputies from the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna" parliamentary faction registered in the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on canceling the Verkhovna Rada's decision to adopt this law. Registration of such a project makes it impossible for the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the President to sign the adopted legislative act. Unblocking the signing is possible by rejecting the draft resolution.
