On July 9, Ukraine will end up at the center of extreme heat, becoming the hottest country in Europe. Forecasters forecasts, air temperature in individual regions will reach +38… +40 degrees. At the same time, strong thunderstorms, squalls and even hail are expected.
The highest temperatures are forecast in the southern and eastern regions, as well as in the center of the country. In Kiev, it is expected to +36… +37 degrees. The heat will be dry and suffocating, which creates a significant load on the cardiovascular system and generally on the body.
However, the heat is not the only threat. In the western and northern regions, short -term but powerful thunderstorms are expected. In places - with gusts of wind up to 20 m/s, flurry, local hail and rainfall. This combination of heat and thunderstorm activity significantly increases the risks to the population.
Forecasters and SESU warn of the increased probability of fires in the forests, as well as the danger of overheating, dehydration and heat strokes. Doctors advise to avoid long stay in the sun, drink a lot of water, wear hats and avoid physical exertion in the hottest hours of the day.
It is also worth remembering that sharp changes in weather - from heat to thunderstorm - can cause headaches, pressure pressure and general malaise in weather -sensitive people.
