74-year-old Vasyl Nimchenko, a former member of the OPZZH party, and now a representative of the Platform for Life and Peace, receives the highest pension among people's deputies of Ukraine. He declares a monthly pension in the amount of UAH 192,136.
According to NAZK data, Vasyl Nimchenko changes his declaration every month due to the high amount of his pension. Officially, the payment is called "lifetime stipend", because he retired under the Judiciary Act.
In January 2025, Nimchenko received a pension of UAH 192,136, the same amount he declared in December 2024 and throughout the previous year. For the year 2023, the total amount of his pension payments was 2,243,481 hryvnias, that is, he received an average of 186,956 hryvnias every month.
For comparison, Nimchenko's deputy salary is almost three times less than his pension.
From 1996 to 2005, Nimchenko worked as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, from 1996 to 1999 he held the position of deputy chairman of the Court. After 2005, he was a permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court.
Judges' pensions are among the highest in Ukraine. For example, the average pension of a judge increased from UAH 99,837 at the beginning of 2024 to UAH 106,057 in October, that is, UAH 6,220 more.
