The Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has allowed MP Serhiy Labazyuk, who is suspected of bribery, to temporarily travel abroad. The politician applied to the court with a request to travel to Moldova to participate in negotiations on livestock and beekeeping.
Labazyuk is part of a delegation of five MPs and insisted that his presence was necessary due to his professional experience. The court granted the request, and from the beginning of December the MP can stay in Moldova for one week. If he does not return to Ukraine, he faces the collection of a bail of 40 million UAH.
For reference, Labazyuk's bail was posted in just a few hours, so this amount is not considered significant for him and his entourage.
The MP from the "For the Future" group is suspected of attempting to bribe Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov and the head of the State Reconstruction Agency Mustafa Nayem. The investigation is ongoing, and the temporary trip to Moldova does not affect the MP's legal status.
