Heorhiy Mazurashu, a people's deputy from Bukovyna, submitted an alternative bill on mobilization to the Ukrainian parliament. The initiative was named "Draft of the Law on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilization, and Military Registration, Taking into Account Common Sense and Real Prospects of Strengthening Defense Capability, Protecting Citizens and the Country."
In his message on his Facebook page, Mazurashu said that he submitted an alternative version of the draft law aimed at correcting the negative aspects of the government's proposals, which, according to him, could lead to "intensification of slave ownership." The deputy expressed fears about the violation of the basic rights and freedoms of citizens in the new government draft law on mobilization.
Mazurashu believes that in order to strengthen the defense capability and support the army, it is necessary to solve the issue of rotation and replenishment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by changing the attitude towards servicemen and solving recruitment issues. He suggests considering only those who are physically and morally ready for service, leaving other citizens to work in other fields, including abroad, if there is no way to secure a job in Ukraine.
Mazurashu called on other deputies and citizens to actively discuss these issues and oppose "slavery" norms, which, in his opinion, can affect society and harm both citizens and the country's defense capabilities.
