People's deputy Yaremenko: "National idea" can last for decades

Bohdan Yaremenko, a People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, expressed his thoughts on the "national idea" and the borders of 1991, arguing that this may be a long-term process that will not necessarily be implemented "in our lifetime."

This is how he responded to the words of Maria Berlinska, a volunteer and head of the Air Intelligence Support Center, that the national idea should now be to preserve the lives of the military, and not to restore the borders of 1991.

The volunteer also said that with the forces and means currently available in Ukraine, it is not realistic to go beyond the national borders of 1991.

"You don't pick up a machine gun to restore borders. You don't understand that now it is almost impossible to restore the borders of 1991," the volunteer told the deputy.
