People's deputy is suspected of illegal enrichment for 11 million hryvnias

The anti-corruption authorities of Ukraine have announced the suspicion of a people's deputy in the case of illegal enrichment in the amount of more than 11 million hryvnias.

This is reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The name of the person involved has not yet been disclosed, but media sources reported that it is Andriy Klochka from the Servant of the People faction.

According to the investigation, in 2020-2021 the People's Deputy acquired property worth 25 million hryvnias, including five apartments in Kyiv, three plots of land in the Kyiv region, two non-residential premises, as well as Tesla and Mercedes-Benz cars. Most of this property was registered to close relatives, but the deputy retained full control over it.

However, the investigators established that the incomes of the deputy and his relatives were not sufficient for the purchase of this property, the SAP revealed.

The difference between the cost of the acquired property and Klochka's income is 11 million hryvnias.

The prosecutor's office noted that the investigation into the deputy began after the publication of journalistic investigations.

In particular, the publication "Bihus.Info" already wrote in 2021 that Andrii Klochka's mother and sister bought property for 20 million hryvnias within two years, without having the appropriate income. At the same time, the deputy received 20,000 hryvnias from the state every month in compensation for renting housing in Kyiv.
