The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has announced suspicion against People's Deputy of Ukraine Konstantin Bondarev for organizing the illegal smuggling of men of military age across the state border. Investigators found that the deputy helped at least 18 men leave the country using fake documents that confirmed their status as "drivers.".
As we learned from our own sources, we are talking about Konstantin Bondarev.
Starting in July 2022, the MP sent letters on his behalf to the State Border Service of Ukraine requesting permission to leave for men disguised as drivers who were allegedly supposed to accompany him abroad
Currently, 23 cases have been recorded when, based on the letters of the People's Deputy, 18 men of draft age crossed the state border without him, because at the time of their crossing, he was either already abroad or did not leave the country at all.
Interestingly, sometimes Bondarev needed up to 5 drivers at the same time for his trips abroad. And as far as we know, three of them never returned to Ukraine.
The People's Deputy was informed of suspicion of organizing the illegal smuggling of persons across the state border using his official position and of official forgery (Part 2 of Article 332, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
In particular, the sanction of the above articles provides for a penalty of up to seven years of imprisonment. The deputy was also served with a petition for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention, which will be considered by the investigating judge. In parallel, searches are being conducted of the person involved and persons who illegally crossed the border.
