The Ministry of Health of Ukraine denied the information about the invasion of poisonous spiders, which is actively spreading in social networks. The department emphasized that this information is part of Russian disinformation, and the real situation with spider bites in Ukraine is not so critical.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that fakes about the dengue fever epidemic were recently refuted, and now there are new rumors about deadly spider bites that allegedly threaten the lives of Ukrainians. "This misinformation, like many others, claims that our calamity originates from American biolaboratories, as if from where the fighter pigeons flew. It's good that at least it's not about a hybrid of a spider and a pigeon," the Ministry of Health ironically notes.
According to the Ministry, no mass requests for medical help due to spider bites have been recorded in Ukraine. The only case that occurred in the Odesa region concerns the bite of a karakurt spider. The victim is in the hospital, but his condition is stable. The heat did activate the spiders, but this does not lead to fatal consequences.
The Ministry of Health assures that there are almost no deaths from spider bites in Ukraine. In the event of a poisonous spider bite, the ministry recommends seeking medical attention, but emphasizes the practical absence of life-threatening consequences.
