The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) has found significant irregularities in the declaration of Yuriy Zozula, the former head of the Kyiv patrol police, in the amount of UAH 2.45 million. This became known after a full audit of Zozula's declaration for 2022, published by the agency.
The NACP points out that the declaration did not indicate several important elements of property used by the former official's family. In particular, Zozulya did not indicate a house with an area of 153.6 square meters in the village of Severynivka, Buchansky district, which his family used. In addition, his wife's apartment in Kyiv with an area of 35.4 square meters, the value of which the NACP estimated at 1.5 million hryvnias, was not indicated. Zozulya explained this by the fact that the apartment was purchased before their marriage.
Inconsistencies were also found regarding the Ford Explorer, which is registered to his wife but was not listed in the declaration. The cost of this car is estimated at 950 thousand hryvnias. In addition, it turned out that Zozulya had significant debts for utility services - over 120 thousand hryvnias.
The inspection also found that Yuriy Zozula's father purchased a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in 2020, although he did not have a category A driver's license, which raises suspicions about this transaction. The cost of the motorcycle is estimated to be between 200,000 and 500,000 hryvnias.
Based on the identified facts, the NACP reported a possible offense under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns the submission of false information in the declaration.
