The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation presented a new commemorative coin "Digital State". The unique 10-hryvnia square coin is dedicated to the technological progress of Ukraine and its digital achievements.
The coin was officially released on December 13, 2024, but it will be available for purchase from January 9, 2025.
Commemorative coin "Digital State"
The obverse of the coin depicts a small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine surrounded by an electronic network that symbolizes Ukraine as a single digital system. This composition personifies the monolithic and integrity of the state, which united all aspects of citizens' lives with the help of the latest technologies. The network reflects the symbolic unification of the west, east, south and north under a single coat of arms, emphasizing the technological unity of the country.
The reverse of the coin is decorated with a schematic map of Ukraine, created from the digits of the binary code, in which the name UKRAINE is encrypted. The name is read vertically from the left, and its decoding is possible through a sequence of numbers. At the bottom right is the inscription "DIGITAL STATE", on which a stylized computer mouse cursor is placed. The composition emphasizes the importance of technology in the modern world.
The design of the coin was developed by the artist Andrii Sagach.
The "Digital State" coin was put into circulation on December 13, 2024. It is made of 999 silver, has a square shape, the denomination is 10 hryvnias, and the weight of the precious metal is 31.1 g. The band of the coin is smooth, the circulation is up to 7,500 pieces.
