The body of a Ukrainian citizen who illegally crossed the border with his companion has been found in Romania. The body was found in a region near the border with Ukraine. Police are investigating the circumstances of the death and are continuing to search for another man with whom the deceased illegally crossed the border.
On Saturday, August 31, a 26-year-old Ukrainian citizen was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in Botosani County in northern Romania. Investigators found a hunting weapon next to him, News.ro reports.
It is reported that the emergency services received a call at around 8 a.m. from a man from the George Enescu commune in Botoşani. He stated that a dead Ukrainian citizen was in his house.
“Police officers who went to the scene established that the stated facts were confirmed: a 26-year-old young man was identified who had a gunshot wound to the head, and a hunting weapon was found next to him. An inspection is currently being conducted at the scene to establish all the circumstances of what happened,” the publication writes, citing information from law enforcement agencies.
