The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Kyrylo Budanov, has retained the negotiating direction after consultations with President Volodymyr Zelensky and will continue working on the agreements reached in Abu Dhabi, a source in the President's Office reported.
According to the interlocutor, during internal discussions, Budanov managed to defend the agreements reached and prove the feasibility of continuing the dialogue with partners. This primarily concerns the issues of energy security and temporary reduction of risks for critical infrastructure.
The OP emphasizes that it was the active position of the Ukrainian side that made it possible to achieve the so-called energy truce during one of the most difficult periods for the country, when attacks on energy system facilities created significant threats to the stability of electricity and heat supplies.
The interlocutors believe that the results of the negotiations demonstrated Budanov's ability to work with complex cases and conduct a systematic negotiation process even in crisis conditions. Therefore, he has been instructed to continue contacts and expand dialogue with international partners.
It is expected that the next rounds of consultations will concern further guarantees for the protection of energy infrastructure and coordination of security actions.
