In Nizhyn, the Chernihiv region, a 44-year-old local resident threw an unknown explosive device in the park, a grenade in the park. About it reports police of Chernihiv region, informs Glavkom .
The incident happened in a public place - the man, according to militiamen, rest in the park and threw the ammunition towards the trees. Fortunately, no one was injured.
"Police immediately detained a 44-year-old resident involved in the explosion," the regional police department reported.
Patrol police, an investigative team and representatives of other rescue services arrived at the scene promptly.
Investigators began criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "Hooliganism with the use of explosive objects", which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of up to seven years.
Law enforcement officers are currently establishing the origin of the ammunition and all the circumstances of the event.
