Ukrainians who voluntarily apply to the CCC and the SP without a summons will be given the opportunity to conclude a contract for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to this contract, their enlistment in military service will be for a period of one year. After the expiration of this period, they will have the right to be discharged.
The possibility of concluding a service contract without receiving a summons was announced by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Fedir Venislavsky. According to him, such individuals will not be considered mobilized and will have the right to vacation after completing a year of work.
“If a person has received a summons, he is subject to mobilization. However, if he came to us voluntarily, he has the right to conclude a contract for military service. Such a person will be considered a contract soldier and will have the right to conclude a contract for a year,” Venislavsky explained.
He also noted that after a year of service under the contract, a person will have the opportunity to be released. This mechanism is provided for those who have decided to voluntarily join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“This opportunity is established for those who independently decided to serve in the army,” he added.
The draft law on increased mobilization excluded the provision on discharge after 36 months of service. As a result, discharge from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is currently impossible even for those who joined voluntarily at the beginning of the war.
Currently, any person who appears at the CCC may receive a summons and be subject to mobilization. The only mitigation applies to those who arrive without a summons to clarify their data. According to the government's decision, they cannot be sent immediately for a medical examination, but must be issued a separate summons.
