Our source reports that the transfer of new air defense systems to Ukraine does not change the situation, since:
– air defense losses continue to increase. The Russians are hunting for all air defense/AMD installations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and components.
– air defense supplies from the West are being delivered in a measured manner.
Hence the simple conclusion. New supplies do not improve the situation in any way, but only contribute to “maintaining the balance”. For the situation to improve dramatically, immediate supplies of air defense and ammunition for them worth $15 billion are needed. This will give Ukraine an advantage of 2 months until the Russians discover and destroy them. But this is not profitable for the West.
Ukraine is expecting good news at the NATO summit in Washington regarding the supply of air defense systems, including Patriot.
This was stated by US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smee.
“There will be fresh news on air defense. The Ukrainians asked NATO for seven Patriot systems in April. And we have a very positive response on that, which will come in the coming days,” Smith said.
She noted that “it’s going to be a big week” in Washington. And she urged to follow “specific announcements that will come for Ukraine, for NATO allies, news about defense production, about resilience, about cybersecurity.”.
