In recent years, Ukrainians have become accustomed to celebrating the New Year without the traditional snowy landscapes, which is a consequence of climate change. According to forecasters, this year's New Year's Eve in 2025 also does not promise the return of a winter fairy tale for most regions of Ukraine.
December 31 this year will not be an exception to the synoptic rules of recent years and will support the general trend of a wet and warm New Year.
In eastern Ukraine, warm weather is expected on New Year's Eve, with temperatures at night not lower than minus -2˚C. In the center, New Year's Eve will be wet - forecasters predict wet snow.
The weather will bring a more festive mood to residents of the western regions, where frosts are expected closer to the New Year holidays, and winter will throw up new portions of snow.
In southern Ukraine, the weather for the New Year promises no surprises - weather forecasters predict relatively warm days without frost.
New Year's Eve in Kyiv will be warm and rainy.
As a reminder, a short-term cold snap will begin in Ukraine on December 13, which will be accompanied by frosts down to -14° and strong winds.
