Gallery restaurant and hotel complex, located in the coastal area in the capital, continues to function despite the judgment on dismantling. Journalists recorded the preparation of the complex for the summer season.
The case around Gallers has been accompanied by legal disputes for several years. In 2024, the Kyiv City Council continued the lease of the land for another 15 years, although it was established earlier that the construction of objects occurred without the necessary permits and in violation of environmental standards.
The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the dismantling of objects and the return of the land to the community of Kiev. The Court of Appeal supported the requirements of the prosecutor's office, found the lease illegal and obliged to dismantle the buildings.
In addition, the owner of the complex was suspected of employment of land, fraud, forgery and their use.
On May 30, journalists visited the territory of the complex to check the execution of a court decision. It has been found that Gallery works in the usual mode: there are employees on the spot, visitors are maintained, the beach area is being prepared. Representatives of the administration of the institution did not comment on the situation and ignored the court's decision. The journalists tried to remove the guards from the territory, although it is located on communal land.
The situation is concerned about communities and activists who are waiting for further actions by law enforcement agencies and local authorities.
