German defense giant Rheinmetall, one of the world's leading arms manufacturers, has already built one production line in Ukraine and plans to launch three more. This was stated by the company's general director, Armin Papperger, stressing that Rheinmetall plans to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine to ensure its defense capability against the background of the long-term conflict with Russia.
"Things are progressing. The first plant is already ready. The second one is on the way. And now I insist on speeding up all this, because we don't have time," he said.
"Production line #1 will be aimed at tanks. The powder production and ammunition capabilities will be aimed at double or even triple the production to NATO standards that you don't currently have. After all, your production line still has old Soviet standards. These will be outstanding technologies in the future. There will also be production of artillery and ammunition for tanks. I can't say more," said Papperger.
