The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NCRECU) has adopted a draft resolution that provides for an increase in the electricity transmission tariff for businesses by 25.8% - to 665.26 UAH/MWh. The decision was made at a meeting of the commission on November 13. The new tariff will not affect ordinary consumers - the increase applies exclusively to businesses.
Solution details
For "green metallurgy" the NEURC proposes a separate tariff at the level of 352.73 UAH/MWh , and for dispatching control - 95.07 UAH/MWh . The Commission explains this decision by a number of factors, including:
- reduction in electricity production and transmission;
- increase in compensation for technological losses;
- increase in salaries at Ukrenergo;
- loan servicing costs and special obligations for settlements with renewable energy producers (REPs).
Inflation processes and currency exchange rate growth are also taken into account.
Next steps
The approval of the draft resolution means that the public discussion stage will now begin. Final approval of the document will take place later.
The tariff for the population remains unchanged
The electricity tariff for household consumers will remain at the level of UAH 4.32 per 1 kWh at least until May 1, 2025. This was confirmed by the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko in response to a request from People's Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko, noting that the price for the population is fixed by Resolution No. 632 until the end of April 2025.
Thus, ordinary Ukrainians can be sure that their electricity tariff will not change in the autumn-winter period of 2024/25.
