Norway, one of the countries that has actively supported Ukrainians, is forced to change its asylum policy. Norwegian Justice Minister Emily Enger Møll announced a decision to stop automatically granting asylum to all Ukrainian refugees.
Over the past 2.5 years, Norway has accepted about 85,000 Ukrainians, which, according to Oslo, is more than all neighboring countries.
"We cannot accept a disproportionately large share of displaced persons compared to similar countries, such as those in Northern Europe," said Justice Minister Emily Enger Mehl.
From now on, Norwegian migration services will consider asylum applications on an individual basis and only from 6 western regions (Lviv, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Rivne).
