New profession in Ukraine: Companion of war veterans and demobilized persons

At the initiative of the Ministry of Veterans of Ukraine, a new professional standard was introduced aimed at supporting war veterans, their families and families of fallen soldiers during the transition to civilian life.

The Deputy Minister of Veteran Affairs, Maksym Kushnir, reported this through the Government portal, emphasizing the importance of professional support for veterans. He noted that every veteran should have access to professional support and assistance during adaptation to a new life. The main emphasis is on an individual approach to each veteran, aimed at providing the necessary information and services.

"All the needs that arise for veterans and veterans as part of the transition from military service to civilian life should find professional support and assistance that can be provided by just such an escort specialist. First of all, we are talking about individual professional support, aimed at helping our Defenders in receiving, in particular, rehabilitation, psychological, educational and other services," said Maksym Kushnir.

Professional support specialists will advise veterans on their rights, opportunities, benefits and access to various services, such as rehabilitation, psychological, educational, etc., as well as help with the preparation of necessary documents.
